2017 Golf Society Winners
Strange to think that as we stood on the 1st tee on Friday at Tyrrells Wood GC, resplendent in our Christmas jumpers, it was in fact the first game of the 2018 season!
More on the day’s winners from George later as that evening on court 1, looking a bit like Billy Smarts circus tent, it was time for spreadsheet Kearney to announce the 2017 Golf Society Winners over the 10 x golf days.
After a delicious Christmas dinner the following were presented with their honours;
Graham Jones won his own broken club back in a box & the Temper Temper prize.
Steve Hanrahan picked up the Bandito honour which slipped nicely under his poncho.
Dave Murphy collected the Medal of Distinction by being anything but.
Fraser Ritchie got lucky in two related prizes namely most birdies & most nearest the pins.
And so to the players of 2017. Terry Bartlett could have justifiably expected top spot with a 5 game average of 35 points but was pipped by Dave Sansom with an impressive 36.8 point average.
Well done Dave & all the winners. Here’s to a great golfing 2018.
